need help choosing a laptop for college?

i'm not much of a gamer. just want a computer that is fast and reliable. i just cant choose between the two because i dont really know which of the two is better.
Go with the Sony, fujitsu anything are not Very good. There lifespan is terrible, although can't say anything about their support as I have never used them...Oh wait I have on a scanner and it was the WORST experience of my life, kept telling me I couldn't do something when I knew I could and even figured out how to do it, no thanks to their own people who are supposed to know their product inside and out.

Don't listen to the first answer, refurbished does not necessarily mean it was returned, if it were it would be used. Refurbished means the product was "used" but then sent back to the factory, tested, cleaned, tested again and is being sold. Refurbished is like new, and is new just can't label it as such because technically it isn't. I have many refurbished pieces in my system, I have a refurbished laptop and have had it for 3 years now and have NEVER had a problem. Surprising because its a Gateway laptop, and those are the worst ever.
