How many ghz do I need in a laptop?
My mums laptop has 2.00ghz and it doesn't play minecraft or battlefield heroes smoothly and I can't play them at full graphics so how high does it need to be?
Ha, ha, 4.0Ghz in a laptop, sure if you like melted laptops.
Here is the thing about a lot internet games, especially those on Armorgames.com, (from what I have noticed) most don't really take much advantage of a graphics card's capabilties for processing. It is mostly CPU bound, and only one thread. That means even if you have a multi-core CPU, it still only uses one core. The speed does help, but in a laptop, it is hard to push those chips far over 2.6Ghz without major heat issues, and at that speed, it will suck your battery dry in 20 minutes playing an internet game. That is why most laptops stay below the 2.2Ghz range.
The problem you are having is mostly the game is written to be played on the internet, and does not use the full capabilities of a graphics chip for multiple floating point calculations. Instead the game is written so one thread on a CPU has to make all these calculations, thus slowing down the game, especially when there are a lot of little moving things to process on the screen.
The other factor could be a slow internet connection, or a busy network bogging down your connection to the game server.
