What would cause a laptop battery to go bad after 6 months?
I bought my laptop in July (so its about six months old). Only recently, the battery will not charge all the way. Everytime you drain the battery, it will recharge one less percent (ex charged at 79% one time, drained it, and recharged it and would only charge to 78%.) What would cause this and is there a way to fix it?
I forgot to add that the battery life is not shortened!
I have had my laptop on the charger for 3 years straight and nothing is wrong with the battery. I believe when you uncharge and recharge it all the way, it causes problems.
I have found batteries to work again if put in the freezer for an hour. Most of the time it works, but not all the time. Worth a shot.
