where to find ps2 motherboard replacment parts?
so i have SCPH-70012 ps2 (V.12) in other words a slimine ps2 NTSC. and i was wondering i need to know where to get a replacement power input piece which is named a DC IN 8.5V it must be soldered to the motherboard but i can do that i just need the piece!!! i have tried ps2parts.com and richspsxparts.com aswell as ultimate.partsearch.com and cant find it... what i think i am looking for is a place that strips down the motherboard and sells the pieces but i would like to hear from anyone who has an idea. i have also looked into buying another non-working motherboard and replacing it. but on ebay thery are arond $50.00 and this is only a $3-$4 piece or if anyone has a defective ps2 that they will sell to me for cheap i will buy it happily (as long as it is not a power problem).

How to Update Motherboard Drivers Manually and Automatically
Someone has told you to update the motherboard drivers. It could be because you tried to install a new Video card, sound card, or any other kind of upgrade. When it didn't work, you contacted tech support and were told to update your motherboard drivers. Since they only deal with their accessory, you were left high and dry not knowing what to do. So how do you update the motherboard?
The Importance of the Motherboard
Motherboard sounds like an old Star Trek term and it kind of fits. The motherboard is the hardware center of your computer. All the silicon parts, chipsets, cards, power cords and CPU all attach to the motherboard. It gets so hot it needs its own fan!
If you were to look at it, the motherboard is an actual board. It has all kinds of little lines running across it going to little microchips. The motherboard is so delicate, even static electricity can short out some components.
Suffice it to say, without an intact motherboard, your computer is nothing but a paperweight. Lucky for you, you do not have to actually look at or touch the motherboard to update the drivers.
Updating the Motherboard Manually
In order to update your motherboard manually, you will need to know the type of motherboard you have. Additionally, you will need to know the type of chipsets you have. If you know this information, then you can go the manufacturer's website to find the appropriate drivers for you system.
Once you find these, download the drivers. Next, double click the downloaded drivers to automatically install the drivers.
Updating the Motherboard Automatically
For most people, updating the motherboard will require some type of software. You will either need software to identify your motherboard or you will need software to update the drivers. Either way, you will need some type of software.
Identifying Your Motherboard
When you use software to identify your board, it will come back with a list of every aspect of your computer. You can then take this list and post it on motherboard forums and someone can tell you what motherboard and chipset your computer is running. (It has to be decoded) At that point, you can download the needed software.
Identifying Drivers Needing Updating
Driver update software will automatically detect your motherboard and therefore you do not need to have any specific knowledge. The software will scan your computer to detect your current drivers and compare them to the drivers it finds on the Internet.
After completing the scan, it will generate a list of drivers needing updating. It will list any motherboard drivers, USB drivers, sound drivers or any other drivers, which have updates. At this point, all you need to do is select the drivers you wish to update and click download. After it downloads, click install and you are done.
Once you update the motherboard drivers, everything should be working properly again. If you are still having problems with a device, you can contact tech support and assure them your drivers are fully updated.
