Can I have both Vista and Windows 7 on my computer?
I have a HP computer that was refurbish with Vista. No recovery cds. I plan to get Windows 7 within this week, so I'm wondering if I will be able to have both OS's on my computer. I want to keep Vista even though I upgrade. Are there ways?
I'm currently using Vista 64-bit, will I have upgrade to Windows 7 x64 as well. Or it would not matter if I install Windows 7 32-bit?
"No recovery DVDs" is bad, very bad. Follow the instructions in the HP User Manual to burn your own Vista Recovery disks. Then, if that doesn't Work, and it may not if it was done before:
Call the Seller and demand the Vista Recovery disks, if they even have them.

Order replacement Recovery disks directly from HP. You WILL need them.
If you BUY a W7 Upgrade kit, you can't install W7 on a separate partition, like you want. The W7 Upgrade REPLACES Vista, but saves your apps and personal data. For dual-boot, you need to buy the Full W7 Installation disks.
