Tips and suggestions for buying a Refurbished Laptop?
anyone know good sites that sell refurbished laptops? Any recommendations on which one to get for under 300? What specs should I look for when buying a used computer? I'm open to any suggestions. I'll consider all computers except for Toshiba. Thank you.

If you're short on cash but you really want a laptop then you have come to the right place. In this article I'm going to share with you the best places you can go, both online and off, to find very cheap laptops.
Where To Go To Find Very Cheap Laptops
The first place that anyone should go to is Amazon.com. Amazon is an excellent place to both shop and learn about laptops. The best part of this site are the customer ratings. Here you can read what experiences others have had with certain laptops before you buy. That way if others have already purchased the unit and are complaining about it then you can skip it and start looking at other laptops. Also, Amazon features used versions of the same new laptops. Simply look under the price and you'll see used models for sale also. This is a great way to save money.
One of the best ways to save a LOT of money is with refurbished laptops. These very cheap laptops are laptops that have had problems but have been fixed, cleaned, stripped of any unneeded software and then repackaged and sold. They are usually very reliable and cost sometimes hundreds of dollars less than the new model. Plus with a lot of sites, Apple especially, they have the exact same warranty that the new models do. You can find refurbished laptops at Apple.com, Dell.com, Toshiba.com, Lenovo.com, and a few others.
If you are really strapped for cash you may be tempted to go to ebay, Craigslist, Backpage or other sites like this to look for used laptops that people are selling themselves. This is not a good idea for a number of resons. One, you have no idea what condition the laptop is in. How do you know that it's previous owner didn't use it as a doormat? How do you know they didn't use it as a serving tray for snacks? You never know. Also, even if it does work, how long do you think it will last? Why are they even selling it in the first place? These are all quesitons that you should ask yourself before you buy a used laptop on an auction site or a classified ad site. Plus there is absolutely no warranty and no guarantee. You may send money and wind up with nothing at all!
So your best bet to find very cheap laptops that are of good quality you should go to Amazon and/or the larger manufacturers for their refurbished models.
