I recently broke the hard drive in my Sony Viao VGN-SR190 laptop when I dropped it on the ground. I'm looking to replace the hard drive myself, but I'm not 100% positive on what hard drives are compatible and which is the best to buy. I think I need a SATA hard drive, but other than that I'm not sure what restrictions I should be aware of.

The IDE drive has exposed pins and the SATA drives do not show (are enclosed inside the covering and has fewer pins. I use Hitachi hard drive(s) and have had bad luck with Western Digital hard drives but they do give warranty but a pain to replace and re install OS and wait for another new HDD to come in.
