So it displays the BIOS splash screen ( it says VAIO) and then goes to a Blue Screen. Immediately? Is there a pause? Can you hit F8 a bunch of times before it goes to that Blue Screen (after it says VAIO) and bring up the Safe Mode Boot Menu? If so, can you perform a system restore to a date before the update?
If you can't bring up the Safe Mode menu... then you are going to have to grab the recovery discs for the laptop and perform a Factory Recovery... that means putting the disc numbered 1 in the drive, booting to that disc, and following the instructions. If you don't have the discs, you may have to call Sony tech support and order them.
